Eligibility Notes
Applicant must be an independent nonprofit literary arts organization, independent publisher, or small press, including a literary journal; maintain a literary arts mission; and be headquartered in South Arts' nine-state region, which includes Kentucky. Fiscal sponsorship is not permitted. Units of government, colleges/universities, and organizations funded in the previous Literary Arts Project Grant cycle are ineligible. Applicants may submit one project and may receive only one Literary Arts Project Grant across four funding cycles. Independent publishers and presses are not expressly required to hold 501(c)(3) status, although for-profit or commercial project activities are ineligible.
