The Mildred V. Horn Foundation is a La Grange, Kentucky-based private foundation supporting charitable organizations primarily in Oldham County and surrounding counties. Major areas of giving include education, homeless services, historic preservation, literary and cultural activities, and other charitable purposes. Historic preservation funding has a broader geographic reach and may support public historic homes in Kentucky and several surrounding states.

Timing Notes
The Foundation does not publish a regular application deadline. Its most recent IRS Form 990-PF states that there is no deadline unless special consideration is necessary or the Foundation's annual grant funds have already been expended. Applicants may therefore submit requests on a rolling basis, although applying earlier in the Foundation's funding year may be advantageous.

Eligibility Notes
For most grantmaking, the Foundation restricts funding to Oldham County, Kentucky and contiguous counties. In Kentucky, this generally encompasses Oldham, Trimble, Henry, Shelby, and Jefferson counties. A separate geographic exception applies to public historic homes: eligible historic preservation projects may be located in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, West Virginia, Tennessee, Illinois, Virginia, or Missouri. Applicants are instructed to include a current IRS exemption letter with their request.
