Eligibility Notes
Individuals, businesses, neighborhood associations, informal groups, individual artists, groups of artists, arts organizations, non-arts nonprofits, and other community-based organizations may apply. Applicants without tax-exempt status should be aware that grant awards may be considered taxable income. Partnerships are strongly encouraged: community-based applicants are encouraged to partner with an artist or arts organization, while artists and arts organizations are encouraged to partner with a community-based individual or organization. Applicants that already combine both the community and arts components do not need an additional partner. Events must include an artistic element, take place physically and in person in the Greater Louisville area, and be free and open to the public. Eligible artistic components may include performances, exhibits, culinary arts, or opportunities for participants to engage in artistic creation. General operating support, fundraisers, re-granting, political advocacy, and religious or primarily faith-based programming are not eligible. Previous or current Fund for the Arts grantees must be compliant with all existing grant requirements and reporting.
