Incentive program for development, expansion, or rehabilitation of tourism projects in Kentucky. Approved projects may recover up to 25% of approved costs over 10 years through recovery of incremental sales tax generated by the project; some projects may recover up to 50% over 20 years.

Applicants submit materials to the Cabinet Secretary, projects may receive preliminary and then final approval, the authority meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 1:30 PM, and acquisition/construction cannot begin until after final approval.

tatute defines an eligible company broadly as a corporation, LLC, partnership, limited partnership, sole proprietorship, business trust, or other entity operating or intending to operate a tourism development project. Eligible project types include tourism attraction, theme restaurant destination attraction, entertainment destination center, and lodging facility projects. The program page lists a $1 million minimum investment for tourism attraction projects and a $5 million minimum investment for eligible full-service lodging projects.
