This comprehensive workshop covers everything from the basics of grant writing to the critical sections of a proposal, from the need/problem statement to the budget justification. Learn effective writing styles, such as using inductive writing to present the most important information first, and how to avoid common pitfalls like jargon and unsupported assumptions. By the end of the training, you will have a clear understanding of how to craft compelling proposals that resonate with funders and demonstrate your organization's capacity to deliver impactful outcomes.

Day One will cover:

  • Introduction & Basics: Writing Style, AI in Grant Writing, Proposal Planning
  • Key Proposal Sections: Need/Problem, Implementation Plan (Logic Models, Outcomes, Objectives, Methods), Timeline, Evaluation
  • Understanding Grant Guidance

Day Two will cover:

  • Budgeting
  • Abstracts
  • Sustainability
  • Finding Funding Opportunities
  • Partnerships
  • Making It Competitive
  • Grant Ready Kentucky is proud to host the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development for a Q&A on the new state GRANT match program. Learn how to leverage federal funding to strengthen your Kentucky community.
