Join Grant Ready Kentucky and Murray State University’s Nonprofit Resource Center on February 12–13 for an in-person, two-day Grant Writing Training at Murray State University.
This workshop, led by Melissa Vermillion and hosted by Dr. Elise Kieffer, Ph.D., Director of the Nonprofit Resource Center and Program Director & Assistant Professor of Nonprofit Leadership Studies, will equip participants with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to begin grant writing or further strengthen their experience.
Grant Ready Kentucky has compiled funding opportunities from Kentucky governmental agencies, departments, and divisions into a public facing, searchable database. This resource improves access to state funding opportunities by offering clear listings and links to relevant source webpages when available. The webinar will introduce the database, highlight example opportunities, explain the information provided, and walk participants through how to use the tool effectively.
Join Grant Ready Kentucky for “How to Interpret a Private Foundation’s 990 for Smarter Grant Seeking,” featuring insights from Funding for Good. This webinar will guide nonprofit leaders through how to use a private foundation’s 990-PF to better understand funders before applying. Participants will learn how to identify a foundation’s giving capacity, priorities, leadership, past grantees, geographic focus, and application practices, as well as how to spot trends and align proposals with true funding behavior. Attendees will also learn where to access 990s for free and how to strategically use this information to make smarter, more targeted grant-seeking decisions.
