The USDA Rural Business Development Grant (RBDG) Program is a competitive federal grant program supporting economic development and job creation in rural communities. Led by USDA RBDG expert Mark Mason and facilitated by Melissa Vermillion, this session will prepare participants to identify eligible organizations and project area types, distinguish between Business Enterprise and Business Opportunity Grant uses and funding allocations, and assemble the nine required application components. Participants will also understand how applications are scored, recognize ineligible uses of funds, navigate post-award compliance requirements, and apply Kentucky-specific context, including the importance of early contact with the USDA RD Kentucky State Office.
