Grants 101 & 201 Workshop: Maysville

Workshop

This comprehensive workshop covers everything from the basics of grant writing to the critical sections of a proposal, from the need/problem statement to the budget justification. Learn effective writing styles, such as using inductive writing to present the most important information first, and how to avoid common pitfalls like jargon and unsupported assumptions. By the end of the training, you will have a clear understanding of how to craft compelling proposals that resonate with funders and demonstrate your organization's capacity to deliver impactful outcomes.

What’s new? This training now includes updated content on leveraging AI in grant writing, providing participants with five practical tips for utilizing AI tools effectively to enhance their proposals. Additionally, the importance of partnerships is emphasized, highlighting how they can enhance credibility, broaden project impact, and increase sustainability, which is crucial for meeting funder expectations. Participants will also learn about the distinctions between outcomes and outputs, with a focus on how clearly defined outcomes demonstrate long-term benefits and align with funder missions, while specific outputs serve as measurable benchmarks for success. This new content aims to equip both new and returning participants with the latest strategies and insights to make their grant proposals more competitive and effective.
