A Foundation of Economic Development: What City Leaders Need to Know about Brownfield Redevelopment

Do you know what brownfield redevelopment is and why it is so vital for cities? This webinar will provide basic information about brownfield redevelopment and discuss its importance, particularly in economic development. The Kentucky League of Cities (KLC) has partnered with the Department for Environmental Protection in a new initiative to provide members with ongoing education and resources regarding brownfield redevelopment.

The interactive discussion will include:

  • The basics of brownfield redevelopment and how it can aid in economic development within your community;
  • How to initiate, implement, and fund a brownfield project;
  • Help in understanding how to take advantage of extra funding available through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL); and
  • Information on how to overcome barriers associated with redeveloping abandoned or blighted properties.
